Pastor's Weekly Musing

Hey Everyone!

No, I'm not working during my vacation. This was pre-written before I left, I promise. So there.

I wanted to let you know personally that the Offermann's have been on the docket to take their scheduled sabbatical this year! As you know, both Pastor Portia and I have taken sabbaticals as a key spiritual practice to aid in longevity, emotional and spiritual health, and expanded ministry capacity. Earlier this year, the Church Council extended the opportunity for the Offermann's to take a 2-month sabbatical (July and August), which they will gladly receive.

The timing is an indicator of God's kindness and grace, as the break will serve them and their family in multiple ways during this season. Prayerfully, they will both be at church for our next NextGen Sunday, July 2, which will be their last Sunday before their sabbatical begins. They'll be back in the office in September.

Let's make sure they feel loved and appreciated over the coming weeks before they begin this journey. I love being a part of a community that values the well-being of its pastors and leaders - spirit, soul, and body! I love this church!

July 2: NextGen Sunday and Baby Dedications 9 AM & 11AM

NextGen Sunday is coming on July 2! Our Kids Building will be closed for the day and all kids 4 years old and older will join us in the sanctuary as we worship together as a family and church community.

We will still offer nursery care for ages 3 and younger, in the regular rooms in the Main Building. The Parent's Room in the back of the sanctuary is also available for our families.

Our youth group (MYG) will take the lead in our services: worship, ushering/greeting, and Pastor Adrianne will bring the Word. We'll also take time to celebrate Baby Dedications, enjoy communion together, and see our kids perform a number from the Kids Camp soundtrack.

Come do family discipleship with us! Having our kids in the main service with us (for a slightly shorter service than normal) communicates so much to their little souls: that they're valued, welcomed, needed, wanted, and a part of our church. Join us!

If you would like to have your baby dedicated on this special Sunday, please register HERE.

This Sunday we’ll continue our series, APPRENTICE.

This week, my friend and campus pastor at Life Pacific University, Dan Fernandez, will be coming back to Meadows to share an impactful and hopeful message on community! Community is a vital and necessary part of becoming an apprentice to Jesus, and Pastor Dan Fernandez will be sharing how God has designed us for community.

Join us for Part 10 - How We Change: COMMUNITY

You don't want to miss this Sunday!
