Pastor's Weekly Musing

Hey everyone!

Christmas is upon us. Our legendary Christmas Eve services will be held this Saturday at 3 & 4 PM, where we'll enjoy some performances, sing carols, play games, and hear a Christmas message. It's one of my favorite gatherings of the entire year: short and sweet, filled with laughter and joy, and home before 6 PM.

Luke 2 tells us that the angel told the shepherds on that fateful day over 2000 years ago, "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."

The shepherds immediately responded by going to find this baby Savior, and after they saw it with their own eyes, they "returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told."

We'll do the same thing this Saturday afternoon: we'll "glorify and praise God," because He did exactly as He said in His Word, "just as we have been told", and for all the things we have "seen and heard" for ourselves.

Let's be just like those shepherds this Christmas! See you Saturday!

REMEMBER: no gatherings on campus on Sunday, December 25, or Wednesday, December 28.

Over 100 of our world-famous volunteers came to our Appreciation Event this past Sunday, and enjoyed a gift, hot cocoa and cookies, and a great time overall! I love this church!

 - Sunday, January 1: One service @ 11 AM, family style (no kids church)

At our New Year's Day service, we'll be holding baptisms and baby dedications! What a way to start the year, right?
