Pastor's Weekly Musing

Hey everyone!

This week, I've asked our very own Scott & January Wilson to write the devotional for this week's Musing. The Wilsons are our missionaries to Mexico and have been serving there for over 6 years. Incredible!

I wanted to give you all an update on how they're doing and how we can stay connected. Enjoy!

Hello everyone,

We are Scott and January Wilson and we have been members of Meadows Fellowship since 2006. In 2016 we deployed as full-time missionaries to Mexico in order to assist another missionary couple in hosting church groups coming to the Tijuana area from the U.S. After 9 months, our ministry expanded as I was appointed as the Assistant to the National Missions Director for Foursquare Mexico. We still host teams, but now we are involved with developing a comprehensive missionary training program for Foursquare Mexico, church planting throughout the country, and facilitating discipleship training conferences.

In 2020 when the world shut down because of COVID, it put on hold all of these activities as well, but God opened other opportunities for us to continue to serve. I started to work with the Business As Mission Network for Foursquare, providing administrative support for the North America, Caribbean, and Latin America regions for Foursquare Missions International, facilitating the Global Missions Director cohort, and assisting the Missions Mobilizer for the U.S. Western District. There are a few other things I fit in between these responsibilities, but it is usually just doing the same thing for different people.

As we were approaching our 6 year anniversary of being deployed to Mexico, we were comparing our original assignment to what we are actually doing now and were amazed at the difference. God has been so good as He has grown our influence to a much greater level than we could ever have imagined. We also notice that our submitted budget had pretty much stayed the same even though our expenses had increased along with added travel costs. After speaking to our supervisors, it was suggested that we put added focus this year on increasing our ministry partnerships.

We will be in Las Vegas February 10th through the 20th, so if you would like to hear more specifics about how you can join us in impacting not only Mexico but in reality the entire world for Christ, please contact us at the following email: foursquarescott@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week,

Scott & January Wilson

This Sunday, we'll continue our series, This is Us.

We're looking at challenges we're facing as a church, and how we'll meet the moment to counter-form into the likeness of Christ. We've said we want to be a community of close relationships and of orthodoxy.

This week, we'll look at the effects of moral relativism on our church and look to Scripture to habituate ourselves toward the way of Jesus.

Join us this Sunday for Part 4 - A Community of Holiness.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the walkway!
